Located at Kuala Besut Terengganu, this is a hiking heaven for hikers. I went hiking by myself when visited Terengganu previously and it was challenging yet fun at the same time.
How to get here?
Thank you for inventing Waze. Just Waze Bukit Keluang and it will bring you the location. However, my previous won't direct me to the starting point. So, if you looking for a starting point, when you are about to reach Bukit Keluang, you will see bundle stalls, kindly turn to the left heading toward the beach and you can see plenty of parking spaces and stalls selling snacks and drinks.
Car Park
It is free. Park your car there near the stalls and look for one stair that goes to the hill. The stairs are located in front of the parking space.
Trail Descriptions
If 10 is the most difficult, I can say 8 for the first 10 minutes of hiking and 5 for the rest of the journey. The first part was quite challenging due to the stairs being quite steep. Yes, there is the part where you need the rope that has been provided to climb. If you are concerned about sunburn, don't worry because of the terrain covered by trees. Shoes are highly recommended and quite slippery if raining on the previous day. Total climb time depends on the individual, mine is around 30 minutes to reach the peak.
Weather Conditions
As I was hiking around 3.30 pm, the weather relatively hot and humid. A little bit windy.
Why is it worth it to climb?
The view. The spectacular view from the peak overlooking the South China Sea from the cliff.
While visiting Terengganu put this on your to-do list. You can climb after you back from the island as it is located 8km from Besut Jetty. Worth to sweat for! Have you been here too? Share your experience in the comment section below.
